Battery Usage Cautions

Cell Connection

Direct soldering of wire leads or devices to the cell is strictly prohibited. Lead tabs with pre-soldered wiring shall be spot welded to the cells. Direct soldering may cause damage to components such as separator and insulator due to heat generation.

Prevention of Short Circuit

Adequate insulation layers between wiring and cells shall be used to maintain extra safety protection. The battery pack shall be structured to prevent internal short circuits, which may cause smoke or fire.

Prohibition of Disassembly

Never disassemble battery cells. Disassembling may generate internal short circuits, causing gassing, fire, explosion, or other problems. Electrolyte is harmful - if contact occurs with skin or eyes, flush immediately with fresh water and seek medical advice.

Fire Safety

Never incinerate or dispose of battery cells in fire. This may cause explosion and is extremely dangerous.

Liquid Immersion

Battery cells shall never be soaked with liquids such as water, seawater, soft drinks, juices, coffee, or other beverages.

Battery Replacement

Battery replacement shall be done only by either the cell supplier or device supplier and never by the user.

Damaged Battery Handling

Battery cells might be damaged during shipping by shock. If any abnormal features are found such as damage to the plastic envelope, deformation of the battery package, electrolyte smell, leakage, or other issues, the cells shall never be used. Batteries with electrolyte smell or leakage shall be placed away from fire to avoid fire or explosion.
